ramp at the pedestrian entrance on Newtownpark Lands
Question: Councillor M. Baker:
"To ask the Manager to install a ramp at the pedestrian entrance on Newtownpark Lands going into Guardian Angels Church so as to aid a disabled child in the Guardian Angels school access the parklands with fellow classmates?"
Reply:
The Parks Department is presently taking a series of measures as part of its development programme to identify and remove barriers to people with disabilities. Consultants have been engaged to conduct an Access Assessment Audit which will assess the broader aspect of the Council's policy and services in parks and open spaces in order to determine their effect on accessibility for people with disabilities. This particular request will be included for consideration in our 2007 Works Programme.
