MEETING OF DUN LAOGHAIRE AREA COMMITTEE
2ND OCTOBER 2006
Wishing Well Pub on Newtownpark Avenue
Question: Councillor M. Baker:
"o ask the Manager in relation to the Wishing Well Pub on Newtownpark Avenue to confirm the following: –
(i) if the Council own any footway outside this premises;
(ii) if a footway is owned, why no pathway has been put in place;
(iii) when such a pathway will be installed?"
Reply:
(i) The Council owns the land adjacent to the 'Wishing Well"Pub.
(ii) The above location has been examined with a view to installing a footpath. Cars are currently parking nose in to the face of the 'Wishing Well"pub and thus preventing a safe through route for pedestrians
(iii) It is the intention of the Traffic Section of the Council to install a 25 metre long footway at this location.
The Traffic Section last spring applied to Dublin Transportation Office (DTO) for funding for the above works. However, the funding for this scheme was not approved by the DTO.
The Traffic Section still intends to proceed with this scheme and to install the footway in the New Year.
