Question: Councillor M. Baker:
To ask the Manager to advise if following the water reinstatement works on Seapoint Avenue if the dug up sections will be resurfaced correctly as currently these sections feel like a collection of ramps? When will this work take place?
Reply:
This work is part of the Dublin Region Water Mains Rehabilitation Project being undertaken under Contract by Dublin City Council. The Contract between the City Council and the Contractor includes provision for the permanent reinstatement of all the openings/excavations made to facilitate the installation of the new services. However, having regard to the number and proximity of the excavations, there is likely to be a long-term impact on the surface of the road regardless of the quality of the permanent reinstatements. The NRA will be advised of the position as set out above so that they may consider the allocation of financial resources for re-surfacing the road along affected areas.
