To ask the Manager when the Council houses destroyed in the explosion on Temple Road in Blackrock some years ago will be rebuilt?
Reply:
The property that was the source of the explosion is not in Council ownership. Were at an advanced stage of discussion with our insurance company in relation to the two Council houses which were destroyed in the explosion. There is still an ongoing Garda investigation in relation to the explosion. It is likely to take approximately 2-3 years to design and build replacement units on the site, and design work will begin as soon as a settlement is reached with the insurance company.
