The Deansgrange options assessment for the Active School Travel project was carried out in two stages. Initially traffic modelling work was carried out which considered three options. It discounted the option of a give and take system on Deansgrange Road and then assessed the remaining two options (a one-way system on Deansgrange Road and a route through St Fintan’s Park). A multi criteria analysis of the remaining options concluded that the progression of a two-way cycle facility
f rom Kill Lane junction to Brookville Park was the preferred option. The process concluded in July 2021
