To ask the Chief Executive what is the current status of the review of the
expansion of 30kph streets scheme given that a budget of €40,000 was set aside in 2021 to carry out these works?
Reply:
The review of speed limits will cover all speed limits, with a likely emphasis on expanding the streets where 30kph applies. The project has been somewhat delayed due to staff resources. A draft brief for consultants has been prepared. The latest update is that consultants will be appointed, and public consultation will commence in Q1 2022. Council approval, public notification and implementation will take place in Q2
2022.
