Music Generation DLR

To ask the Chief Executive to outline the usage of the Music Generation office in County Hall,
it stores a vast array of musical instruments which don’t appear to be used?

The dlr Music Generation Officer was based in the office. The post was vacant and instruments
were stored in the space while the programme was suspended. The recruitment process for
a new Music Generation Officer has been completed recently in partnership with DDLETB. The
new Officer has now taken up post with the DDLETB. An initial meeting with the ETB and dlr
is due to take place on October 8th, an agenda item at that meeting includes the instruments
currently stored in County Hall and the work location for the new Music Generation Officer.
The instruments are one of the key assets of the Music Generation programme and one of the
tasks for the new Music Generation Officer is to update the inventory of instruments and
programme community uses for them.
