Plan to Clean Junctions at Main Road Intersections

Question: Councillor M. Baker

"To ask the Manager if any scheduled action plan is in place to clean junctions at main road intersections as these areas are often strewn with gravel that is very dangerous for cyclists and motorcyclists? If such a plan does not exist can one be implemented as soon as possible?"

Reply:

"Sweeping at Road junctions is considered an integral part of the normal road sweeping programme. Debris which consolidates in these areas sometimes requires ‘scuffing' to facilitate the removal of this material. Blackspots when identified, are given extra attention. Provision was not made in the estimates for a specific crew to undertake this work."
