Question: Councillor M. Baker
To ask the Manager the following in relation to the pond in Carysfort Park:
- When will the pond be de-silted?
- Do the Parks Dept have any plans to soften the edges of the pond and make it more attractive?
- Will island/s be installed in the centre of the pond?
Reply:
With the recent completion of works on the Maretimo Stream Scheme the Parks Department have been advised to re-test the silt material within the pond. The results of this test will inform the design team of possible options with regard to the renovation of the pond.
Elements such as the softening of pond edges and island features will be examined during the design stage. It is anticipated that a Draft Master Plan for the Park will be finalized during the Summer and it will be circulated to Councillors for their information.
