Annaville Avenue Paths

Meeting of the Dun Laoghaire Area Committee

Written:

Question: Councillor M. Baker
“To ask the Chief Executive to advise when it will be possible to renew the pathways
along Annaville Avenue , Blackrock?”
Reply:
Annaville Avenue is included in the Roads & Footpath Programme 2016 as advised to
the Members of the Area Committee in February, 2016. As has been reported
consistently since the decision was made to re-construct the footpaths, the
advancement of this work was dependent on the prior rehabilitation of the water
main under the road by Irish Water (IW). Arising from proactive liaison with Irish
Water, this work is actively being progressed from their side at present. They are
currently preparing documentation for procurement and tendering.
The procurement/tendering processes required for road and footpath works are
completed so the Roads Maintenance Section is ready to progress as soon as water
mains are rehabilitated.
As things stand at present, it is anticipated that Irish Water may be on site in late
October or early November 2016. This may result in a deferral of the Roads
Maintenance scheme until early in 2017.
