Assessment is carried out in the first instance by the Grants Managers and their teams in each of the relevant Departments. As previously agreed, the Cathaoirleach is consulted on the Business Support Grants. Following the assessment process recommendations are presented to the Selection Committee comprising principally of Directors of Service and Senior Executives from each Directorate who are the Budget Holders for the funding streams. This committee finalize and make recommendation to Council on the allocation of the available grant funding which is a reserved function of the Council.
