"To ask the Manager to confirm what action has been taken to improve the sound proofing of (details supplied) given that this is a query I made with the Housing Department in July 2007?"
Reply:
Acoustic Microdeck flooring was installed during the refurbishment of these premises in 1999 and the stairs leading to the upstairs dwellings were also insulated. This conformed to the requirements of the time. It is important to note that no amount of insulation will totally alleviate the issue of soundtransmission through a timber floor. The level of sound proofing that was provided is considered adequate and no further works are envisaged in this regard.
