Question: Councillor M. Baker:
"To ask the Manager to list what events the Arts Office are hosting in the Blackrock ward during the summer? Can dates and venues be supplied with this answer?"
Reply:
"The Arts Service has assisted with the development of summer music series; this summer is the pilot of the programme. Originally plans were made to include Blackrock Bandstand as part of the series. Due to previous difficulties developing audiences for the park we decided instead to concentrate initially on the smaller parks, in the case of Marlay and People’s Park, incorporate them into the Markets that take place there.The arts service remit is arts project development, and has not to date operated or been funded to provide a pan county approach to events."
