Question: Councillor M. Baker:

"To ask the Manager to install a disabled parking bay on Main Street, Blackrock outside Aidan Fitzgerald's Hair Salon just beside the Breffni Inn? This would be the first bay beside the double yellow lines and would be near the pedestrian crossing?"

Reply:

The Traffic Section of the Council is currently installing 36no. ‘Disabled Parking Spaces' in the Dún Laoghaire, Blackrock and Monkstown areas, which includes 6no. ‘Disabled Parking Spaces' in Blackrock. These disabled parking spaces were approved at the Dún Laoghaire Area Committee Meeting on the 5th April 2004. When all of these disabled parking spaces have been installed, the Traffic Section will then review the provision of disabled parking spaces in the County. Main Street, Blackrock, will then be examined to see if outside ‘Aidan Fitzgerald's Hair Salon' is a suitable location for an additional disabled parking space to be provided.
