Question: Councillor M. Baker:
"To ask the Manager what is the current status of any proposed QBCs throughout the County and when is it likely that these QBCs will be operational?"
Reply:
“Kilmacud QBC” This QBC is at Tender Award stage, and is scheduled to commence on site in the coming 3/4 weeks. It is anticipated that the QBC will be operational in 2006. “Blackrock QBC” The Contract Documentation is complete for this QBC project. Infrastructural Drainage, Water and ESB works are being carried out in tandem and the final design and tender documentation is being carried out. This is scheduled to proceed to Tender in late May 2005 for construction starting in September 2005. This QBC will be operational in late 2006. “Foxrock to Dun Laoghaire Bus Priority Scheme” This scheme is at final Tender Documentation stage and is scheduled to proceed to Tender in late May 2005 for construction starting in August/September 2005. The implementation of the above schemes is dependant on financial commitments from the DTO. In addition there are also a number of QBC's at design or detailed design stage or at public consultation and these include the Orbital QBC (Dundrum Blackrock) and the QBC's serving Cherrywood and Stepaside. At this stage it is not possible to give a precise time when service will commence on the above three routes. As with the previous three schemes the implementation of all schemes is dependant on financial commitments from the DTO.
