Protocol for Visit by President of Ireland

June 2006 Council meeting Question: Councillor M. Baker:

"To ask the Manager to outline what are the protocol procedures in relation to a visit by the President of Ireland to a venue in this County? Are the Council always informed by the President's office of such visits?"

Reply:

"Protocol and procedures to be adhered to for the attendance of the President of Ireland at events and functions in this County are issued directly to the venue concerned from the Protocol Section of the President's office. The Protocol is varied according to the nature of the invitation. The Council are not informed of such visits by the office however on occasions are informed by the organisers of the event."
