MEETING OF DÚN LAOGHAIRE RATHDOWN COUNTY COUNCIL

10 DECEMBER 2007

"A VISION FOR DUBLIN"

Question: Councillor M. Baker:

"To ask the Manager to reply to the following questions in relation to Dublin City Council's "A Vision for Dublin" report:

1. What is the Council's view on the setting up of a Dublin Bay Trust?

2. Would the Council be willing to cede control of DublinBay including the DLR coastline to Dublin City Council?"

Reply:

1. The future of DublinBay was considered at a number of seminars

hosted by the Dublin Regional Authority last year. The Council was

represented, as it is one of the three local authorities which is

bounded by DublinBay. It is considered that this regional level is the

most appropriate level for discussions regarding DublinBay.

2. The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown coastline is an integral part of the

County and should remain under the control of this local authority.
