Signing Off Works Done by Outside Contractors
Question: Councillor M. Baker:
"o ask the Manager in relation to footpath/road renewal, footpath/road reinstatement, repairs to gully's etc carried out by outside contractors the following:
(a)
Can you please advise what supervision is undertaken by the Council, in relation to these kinds of works?
(b)
Who has the responsibility for the 'signing off' on the completed job?
(c)
Is payment made when the works are 'signed off'?"
Reply:
(a)
Works are monitored by the Area Engineer and his staff during the duration of the works
(b)
The Area Engineer has responsibility for signing off the completed job.
(c)
No payment is made until the works are completed to the satisfaction of the Area Engineer.
