Linage on Newtownpark Avenue

Question: Councillor M. Baker

"To ask the Manager to review the linage on Newtownpark Ave at the approach to the N11 White's Cross junction as the current lines are causing confusion for motorists? There are bus lane markings that are not operational; there is a straight on arrow in a lane that only allows right hand turning"

Reply:

Newtownpark Avenue at Whites Cross Junction has been examined recently.

The existing traffic lane markings need clarification. The existing ‘straight-on' arrow lane marking will be removed and replaced with a ‘right turning' arrow lane mark.

In addition to the above, the existing diagonal left arrow will be extended into the ‘left turning' slip lane.

The three no. bus lane ‘not in use' signs will remain in place until a review of bus provision in this area is currently being undertaken by the Quality Bus Network Project Office in liaison with Dublin Bus and the Traffic Section of the Council.
