Baker”That this Committee would request a report on the current provision of light poles inRockville estate off Newtownpark Avenue and on whether an upgrade of the existinglight poles is required together with provision of additional poles in areas where thelight levels are poor.”Report:The distribution of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council public lighting lanternson ESB network poles with overhead electricity supply cables is of the followingorder:Rockville Cresent 9 x 55w SOXRockville Drive 3 x 55w SOXRockville Park 2 x 55w SOXRockville Road 4 x 55w SOXThe light dispersion is impeded in Spring/Summer by luxuriant foliage on deciduoustrees with Autumn leaf fall; consequential ambient surrounds with improved lightingoccur in late Autumn, winter, early spring.The Parks Department is asked to investigate tree/branch/trimming.The Public Lighting Maintenance Contractor (ESB Contracts) is requested to upgrade the pure yellow monochromatic sodium lantern to a more modern type; upon completion in the coming months, a night inspection will be carried out to determine if additional poles and lanterns are needed particularly in context of present fiscal constraints and budget decreases.
