Question: Councillor M. Baker:
To ask the Manager when the cleaning of the silt from the pond in Carysfort Park is to take place given that this item has been budgeted for and the work has been promised for a number of years?
Reply:
A firm involved in desilting ponds has provided an estimate to carry out the above works. A large proportion of the cost is tied up in the disposal of the silt off site. Accordingly additional testing of the material is being carried out and it is hoped that these results will facilitate the incorporation of the material within the landscape of the park and provide significant savings to the overall cost of the project.
