MEETING OF DÚN LAOGHAIRE AREA COMMITTEE26 JANUARY 2009CLONTIBRET HOUSEQuestion: Councillor M. Baker:

“To ask the Manager in relation to Clontibret House on Carysfort Avenue thefollowing:1. When will refurbishment of these units take place given that in reply to a question tabled in April 2008 they were to be ready for occupancy in 6 months?2. Will any additional units be constructed in the grounds of this property? If so,what type of units and when?”

Reply:

1. The Council is in the process of appointing a Contractor to carry out thenecessary refurbishment works. It is proposed to sign the Contract withinthe next couple of weeks with an expected start date in February. It isenvisaged that works should take approximately 13 weeks to complete.2. Planning permission was granted in September 2004 for two additionalunits to the rear garden of Clontibret House. Once the currently proposedworks have been carried out the question of the long-term use of theproperty will be considered i.e. whether to avail of the planning permissionor to implement a more comprehensive redevelopment of the entire site. However, in the current economic climate it is difficult to advise if thiswork will be carried out.In either event the property will continue to be used for social housing
