Ramp on Rockville Road

Meeting of DĂșn Laoghaire Area Committee

Written:

5th December 2011

Question: Councillor M. Baker:

To ask the Manager to repair the ramp at the entrance to Rockville Road off Newtownpark Avenue in Blackrock as it is very damaged and as such is dangerous to both pedestrians and motorists? When will this work take place?

Reply:

The County Council received a grant this year from the NTA (National Transport Authority) for what was described as “Speed Ramps Pilot Project”. It was allocated following representations regarding such ramps being destroyed by the two severe winter weather episodes of the last few years. This allocation is being used primarily to re-construct all the ramps on Avondale Road (9) and Broadford Road-Ballinteer (16). It is intended that the ramp at the entrance to Rockville Road will be reconstructed as part of this Programme of work within the next two weeks.
