County Libraries Update

Question: Councillor M. Baker
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the current status of each library in the County that is undergoing building works and to inform members if there are any plans for additional works at other libraries in the coming 6 months?
Reply:
Blackrock Library
After a delay of nearly a year a new firm of contractors was appointed. Work is now progressing well on the project. It is hoped to reopen the library to the public by Spring 2014.
Cabinteely Library
Proving difficult to introduce self service to this branch. Negotiations are ongoing with supplier. Some minor improvement works are planned for 2013/2014.
Central Library Dún Laoghaire
Builders on site and works progressing well.
Dalkey Library
Works completed and self service has been successfully introduced.
Deansgrange Library
Builders on site and works are progressing well. Library is on target to reopen to the public next Summer.
Shankill Library
Self Service introduced and some minor improvement works planned for 2013.”
