April 2006 Area committee meetingQuestion: Councillor M. Baker:
"To ask the Manager in relation to the taking in charge of St. Augustine's, Blackrock, if the Enforcement Section has been able to secure and return of the bond? If so, will this be sufficient to cover the outstanding works and bring the estate up to taking in charge standard? What are the procedures for holding a plebiscite of qualified electors who are owners or occupiers of the houses involved in order to take the estate in charge?"
Reply:
Following a recent meeting with Mr. Colm Neville, William Neville & Sons Construction Ltd., he has engaged Horizon Environmental to undertake the necessary remedial works. The contractor are now on site since 22nd March for an initial 3 4 weeks during which time they hope to complete all outstanding works and then carry out an up to date CCTV survey of the drains, which may however uncover additional works and if this proved to be the case it may extend this period. It is hoped then that this estate will be completed to our taking in charge standard and if so we will enter into the taking in charge process of advertising out intentions in the paper, allowing the prescribed time of 6 weeks for observations and recommend it to the Council for their approval to take it in charge.
