Lane Leading to Brookfield Terrace

Meeting of DĂșn Laoghaire Area Committee

Written:

Question: Councillor M. Baker:

To ask the Manager to install a footpath on the unnamed laneway that joins Brookfield Terrace to Carysfort Avenue for pedestrian safety reasons? Also can consideration be given to reinstating the surface on this roadway as it is in very poor condition?

Reply:

The laneway between Brookfield Terrace and Carysfort Avenue is 5m wide and currently has parking along one side leaving approximately 3m of road for traffic. Provision of a footpath here of width 1.8m would result in all parking being removed. There are no proposals at present to provide a footpath here but it can be examined for future works programmes. The surface on this laneway will be re-instated as part of the Carysfort Maretimo Stream project in the next 12 to 18 months. In the meantime, temporary repairs will be carried out as required.
