Question: Councillor M. Baker:
To ask the Manager to advise what level of maintenance will be afforded to the closed burial ground in Kill Abbey, Deansgrange during the coming year? The answer should address both maintenance of vegetation, litter/graffiti?
Reply:
There is no provision in the current Annual Budget for closed burial grounds for 2010. However, the cemetery is included in the grass-cutting programme and is scheduled to be cut twice in 2010. The Heritage Officer will be seeking tenders in the coming year from suitably qualified consultants to produce management plans for the various closed burial grounds that are owned by the Council.
