Question: Councillor M. Baker:
To ask the Manager to review the operation of the amended road system outside the shops at Rockville/Newtownpark Avenue as there are difficulties for drivers in entering this area due to the position of kerbs and there is still an ongoing problem with flooding in the loading bay on Newtownpark Ave that needs to be resolved?
Reply:
Rockville Road at Newtownpark Avenue was recently inspected with a view to improving the entrance for drivers at the shops. The Traffic Section intends to amend the existing small build out at the entrance. In addition to the above, the road will be widened by approximately 400m at Macari’s Takeaway and the Spar shop with subsequent reduction in footpath width. It is envisaged that the above site work will be carried out in the next couple of months, subject to funding being made available.
