Noise Abatement

Dun Laoghaire Area Committee

Written:

That the Chief Executive brings a report on the possibility of installing noise abatement measures on the N11 between road R825 (crossroads at Stillorgan) and Stillorgan Grove, for the homes on Stillorgan Park Avenue that back on to the N11.
Report:
The Council, along with the other Dublin Local Authorities, is currently updating noise maps for the agglomeration in accordance with the Environmental Noise Directive. It is envisaged that updated noise maps will be submitted to the European Commission before the end of
2022.
The Road Maintenance Section is continuing the pavement (road surface) renewal project along the N11. It is planned that the section between the Kilmacud Road Lower and Foxrock Church will be renewed in spring/summer 2023. One of the benefits of the renewal project is that the new pavement (road surface) will be significantly quieter than the existing surface.
The Council does not have a budget for retro-fitting noise abatement measures.
