Question: Councillor M. Baker
To ask the Manager to outline what items of documentation are required to renew a resident parking permit?
Reply:
Residential Parking Permits are available on application to the Council subject to conditions and the payment of a fee. The application form details the documentation required to be submitted with the completed form and the conditions for issuing the permit.
To renew a Residential Parking Permit, residents are required to produce a copy of current proof of residency, dated within the last 3 months, showing the residents name and address. The application form lists the documentation that would be considered acceptable evidence of residency to the Council.
The application form notifies applicants of this requirement and that the appropriate fee must be provided. Residents may be required to provide any other information to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in relation to an application, if deemed necessary and sought by the Council.
The requirement for proof of residency to accompany an application to renew a Residents Parking Permit is intended to ensure that the applicant is resident at the address the permit relates to and that Residents Parking Permits are not issued to motorists who have since moved address and no longer reside in the area to which the permit relates.”
