Question: Councillor M. Baker:
"To ask the Manager if income from pay and display parking has increased since the introduction of the County employed parking wardens. Have the number of fines issued increased during the same period?"
Reply:
The new regime of Traffic Wardens became operable, in parts of the County only, in November, 2004. By December 2004 the new Warden Service will be established in all of the Pay and Display areas. In these circumstances comparison of income between both services, at this stage, will not be any real indication of performance. A report along the lines requested would be informative after a period of six months from commencement of the new arrangement and if the Councillor so wishes such a report will be furnished in or around June, 2005.
